What does Draw No Bet mean?
Draw No Bet does exactly what the name says: you pick a team to win, and the draw is taken out of the equation. There are three ways it can finish.
- Your team wins — the selection wins.
- The match is drawn — the selection is void and your stake comes back to you. You are neither up nor down.
- Your team loses — the selection loses.
Why people use it
A lot of football matches are decided by very little, and the draw is the outcome that most often spoils an otherwise sound reading of a game. Draw No Bet removes that specific way of being wrong. You are still saying "this is the better side" — you are just not being punished if the game ends level.
The cost of that protection is a smaller return than backing the same team outright. There is no market that gives you extra safety for nothing; the price always moves to reflect it.
Draw No Bet vs Double Chance
These two are easy to mix up, and the difference is the draw:
- Draw No Bet — a draw refunds you.
- Double Chance — a draw wins for you.
Because Double Chance actually pays out on the draw, it returns less than Draw No Bet on the same team. Which of the two suits a match depends on how likely the draw really is — a genuinely high draw chance makes Double Chance more interesting, while a lower draw chance makes Draw No Bet the cheaper insurance.
Things to check
Draw No Bet normally settles on 90 minutes plus stoppage time, so a cup tie decided in extra time or on penalties still settles on the score after 90. Rules vary slightly between operators, so read the market terms rather than assuming.
How our model uses it
Draw No Bet is one of the simple markets our model works in. The number that decides whether it is worth looking at is the draw probability, and you can see that free for every fixture we cover on today's predictions page.
Common questions
- What does Draw No Bet mean?
- You back one team to win. If they win, the selection wins. If the match is drawn, the selection is void and your stake is returned. If they lose, the stake is lost.
- Is Draw No Bet the same as Double Chance?
- No. With Draw No Bet a draw voids the selection and returns your stake. With Double Chance a draw is a winning result, which is why Double Chance pays less.
- When is Draw No Bet useful?
- When you are reasonably confident a team is the better side but the match looks tight enough that a draw is a real possibility you would rather not lose to.
- Does Draw No Bet include extra time?
- In almost all cases it settles on the 90 minutes plus stoppage time only, not extra time or penalties. Always check the market rules where you are betting.
